a small company building small software
Craftatom is a product company. Each product we build does one job completely, and we host, run and support every one of them ourselves.
the name
Craft, and atom.
An atom is the smallest unit of a thing that's still that thing. Split it further and you no longer have the element, you have parts. That's the size we aim for: the smallest product that still solves the whole problem, rather than a platform with the problem somewhere inside it.
The craft half is the harder half. Small is only worth anything if the thing is made properly.
what we do
We're the operator, not a holding company.
build
Products are designed and written in-house. Nothing here is a white-labelled tool with a new logo on it.
run
We host and maintain what we ship, and we sign and post the updates for what runs on your own machine. When something breaks at 9am on a Monday, it's our problem.
support
Questions reach the people who wrote the software. Nobody sits between you and the person who knows the answer.
where we are
Based in India. Built for wherever work happens.
Craftatom is based in India. AttendFirst is built for Indian businesses, where rotating shifts, contract labour, holiday lists that change by state and teams working from sites with no desk are the everyday case rather than the awkward exception. Meridian is bought by developers wherever there's a Mac.
Software written for tidy offices treats the first list as configuration. We treat it as the default. What the two products have in common isn't a market, it's a size: small enough to hold in your head, run by the people who wrote them.
come and say hello
The inbox is read by a person. Use it if you run one of our products, if you're weighing one up, or if you have a problem you think we should look at.
